Vadim Klyuvgant, Mikhail Khodorkovsky' lawyer, said that his client's detention was once again extended, despite Russian deputies and commentators' recent statements on protection of those accused of economic crimes.

Klyuvgant said: "This is yet another proof of the Khodorkovsky case being outside the legislation and not on the radar for the President's messages or initiatives."
