Vadim Klyuvgant: Clarifications to the Witness Speak of the Obvious Bias of the Presiding Judge
Vadim Klyuvgant, Mikhail Khodorkovsky's lawyer has commented on former MENTAP employee Natalia Sheck's revelation that there is a secret investigation of the new case against Khodorkovsky and his former colleague Platon Lebedev.
Klyuvgant said that throughout that second trial, he has "been relentlessly insisting that there is a parallel investigation taking place" and Sheck's statement "is just one of a multitude of illustrations, evidence that there is a parallel inquiry going on - constantly, ceaselessly, secretly, and illegally."
Klyuvgant said that "Nothing would surprise us, because this all has long ago gone well beyond the bounds of the conceivable and of the inconceivable in relation to the law," however he added that "the behaviour of the presiding judge today shows a major shift in his position...he helped conceal the traces of this activity...intimidating the witness, even to the point of obvious discrimination against the defence.
