Tuschi on "Khodorkovsky" Ahead of Bay Area Debut
In the lead up to its debut on Friday in Bay Area theaters, Cyril Tuschi gives a Q&A to the San Francisco Chronicle.
When asked about his feelings on Khodorkovsky at the conclusion of the making the documentary, he notes:
"My feelings changed constantly. ... At the beginning, I didn't know anything and I thought, "Who's this rich guy? And he's the victim? What's that?" Then I found he was just a classical neo-liberal capitalist, who was a fan of (Margaret) Thatcher and (George W.) Bush, who tried to help Russia become very fast a capitalist state. Only later did I learn of his university founding and contacts with the opposition. He says, 'I'm not a neo-liberal anymore. I'm more a social democrat,' but he's saying that still with a couple of millions for his family and friends."
