Russian rock musician Yuri Shevchuk slammed the Kremlin during an appearance with this band DDT at a music radio awards ceremony. Speaking to thousands gathered in Moscow's Olimpiisky stadium, Shevchuk called the Russian authorities "cruel and inhuman" and spoke out in support of Mikhail Khodorkovsky. He said: "People are suffering not only in prisons and camps, but in orphanages and hospitals as well. How many scum feed off the authorities - the ones with shoulder straps and flashing lights...they rob us, run us over in the roads, shoot us in shops, and nobody has really been held responsible."
