Latynina: I Don’t Know What to Say About Khodorkovsky’s Charges
Ekho Moskvy Radio host Yulia Latynina commented that she could not believe the charges against Mikhail Khodorkovsky when his lawyers first explained them to her.
In her weekly radio show, Latynina said: "There is the permissiveness of the authorities which results in [Mikhail] Khodorkovsky being put behind bars, the war with Georgia and the gas war with Ukraine being unleashed." She added that: "To be honest I do not know what to say about the Khodorkovsky trial. When his lawyers told me several months ago that he was accused of stealing all the oil from himself I somehow could not believe it. Could you say that Latynina had stolen her novel from herself? I think something more than an accusation is involved here; it's a view of the world."
