Ariel Cohen from The Heritage Foundation comments on Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin's speech at the Peterson Institute in Washington DC and subpoena to testify in the Khodorkovsky trial.

Cohen states that the subpoena was from US law firms representing former YUKOS shareholders. He added that Kudrin was wanted by the US District Court for the District of Columbia to give evidence in the second trial of Mikhail Khodorkovsky in Moscow.

However, Cohen notes that Kudrin did not appear to be flustered by the presentation of the subpoena. Kudrin delivered his speech on Russia and the global economy as planned at the Peterson Institute to a high-level audience including former World Bank chief James Wolfensohn and financier George Soros.
