Journalist: Medvedev Should Attend Khodorkovsky-Lebedev Trial
Gazeta.ru journalist Natalya Gevorkyan comments on Mikhail Khodorkovsky and Platon Lebedev's trial and states that Russia President Dmitry Medvedev should attend the hearings to see what kind of justice is being delivered in his country.
In her article, Gevorkyan said: "The second trial against Mikhail Khodorkovsky and Platon Lebedev is a time bomb. If a third of the [Russian] population believes that the authorities are putting pressure on the court it means they do not believe President Medvedev when he says that the outcome of the trial is not to be predicted. Sooner or later this trial will become as shameful for the country as were the trials against political prisoners in the Soviet Union. I am astonished by the shameless behaviour of those behind these proceedings."
