Genrikh Pavlovich Padva was born February 20, 1931. He earned degrees from the Moscow Law Institute and Kalininsky Pedagogical Institute. He has served as a member of the Moscow City Bar Association since 1971 and as vice president of the International Bar Association since 1990.
Padva began his work as a lawyer almost 50 years ago and is considered one of the most authoritative legal minds in modern Russia. His clientele have included some of the most prominent media publications (Kommersant and Izvestiya), multinational corporations (PepsiCo and Citibank), and private individuals (Andrei Sakharov).
For significant personal contribution in the field of jurisprudence in Russia, Padva was awarded the "Public Recognition" medal in 1999.
