In his interview given in Russian to Rosbalt, French Parliament member Herve Mariton calls the trial anecdotic. He points out to the fact that the prosecutor was not able even to read the indictment properly.

Mr Mariton says: "I, as many others, don't know all the details of the YUKOS case, but what we know is that what is happening is not normal. This does not correspond to our vision of human rights."

He said he would raise the case with the members of the European Parliament for discussion at the French National Assembly.
