World chess champion and Russian opposition politician Garry Kasparov draws parallels to Khodorkovsky and Lebedev's second criminal trial and the movie Groundhog Day, noting that the atmosphere is unchanging in the courtroom. He notes that the only change he feels is that a new investigation seems to be under way, as new names of people and companies that do not figure in the indictment begin to be mentioned. "Most likely, they are trying to make up something new. The current indictment looks so absurd that I do not rule out that an order has been given to produce a new fabricated case," he states.
